The taste of preventing childhood hunger!
The idea of an e-book with recipes from friends and family came to fruition during the lockdown. All recipes in this e-book are vegetarian, a gentler way of consuming and a kinder way of living. The recipes are home based with ingredients that are easily available in the supermarket or from online retailers. This book hopefully sends a message that cooking, rather than simply consuming is an activity that we could do more of for our own well-being.
In an age of plenty, it seems almost inconceivable that children all over the world go hungry every day. Akshaya Patra and this book seemed like a natural blend - concerned with food, giving and building a sense of community. The lockdown will lift at some point but there will always be the fire of hunger to be doused and the desire to cook and bond through food.
The proceeds from the sale of this book will be donated to Akshaya Patra to enable them to carry out their excellent work of feeding millions of children in India and the UK suffering from food poverty. The minimum suggested donation is £12 which will feed a child in India for one year. You may wish to donate more. Your purchase will contribute to eliminating classroom hunger and promote the education of socially disadvantaged children in India and the UK.
