AKSHAYA PATRA TO LAUNCH 11 NEW KITCHENS IN UTTAR PRADESH

NEWS DETAILS

The Akshaya Patra Foundation has begun 2017 on a high note by performing a ground breaking ceremony in the presence of a host of dignitaries for 11 brand new kitchens to be launched in Uttar Pradesh. These will add to our two current kitchens located in Vrindavan and Lucknow.

We currently serve nutritious school lunches to 171,000 children in 3,021 schools in Uttar Pradesh every day. Once the 11 new kitchens are up and running next year we will be hugely increasing our reach there to 1.3 million children, and Uttar Pradesh will consequently become our largest area of operation in India. The facilities will be located in Varanasi, Ghaziabad, Agra, Allahabad, Kanpur, Etawah, Kannauj, Ambedkar Nagar, Azamgarh, Rampur and Ballia.

We look forward to the opportunity to positively impact the lives of many thousands more children living in Uttar Pradesh who need our support to grow up healthily and access the lifelong gift of education. If you are interested in supporting our expansion efforts in Uttar Pradesh, please contact us for more information.
